Culinary Creations
Here are photos of meals I’ve made or have had elsewhere during my time in Spain and Europe.

For dinner tonight I had some .79€ noodles (like ramen noodles) with corn. I also threw in some olives and cashews for good measure.
Tuesday, May 12

Spring rolls on top of cauliflower that I attempted to mash, unsuccessfully. Still good though.
Saturday, May 9

A snack of dried peas and corn and what I think were lentils. Surprisingly decent.
Saturday, May 9

Sorta a soft taco

Bimbo tortillas. I am not what I eat.
Tuesday, April 28

Spinach salad with cashews and cheese and balsamic vinegar.
Sunday, April 26

Arroz Tres Delicias
Rice with ham, calamari, shrimp and peas and carrots. (From a frozen bag)
Friday, April 3

Brussels sprouts. I boiled them for about five minutes then emptied the pan of water and added olive oil and a little bit of balsamic vinegar and let it cook for about five more minutes. Try it! They we pretty good.
Friday, March 27

For breakfast: Ham, cheese and spinach eggs

Spring Rolls and Spinach and Hotdog Salad
These are buñuelos (fritters). A stand popped up the other day outside of my apartment and I think it’s a temporary thing for Fallas. They sell these fritters in the evening to people walking home from work, or to people, like me, walking home from the grocery store. They’re pretty much just fried dough sprinkled with sugar.

Saturday’s dinner

Cheesy Meaty Pasta
February 27, 2009

Tonight’s scrumptious meal. Eggs and ham bits, french fries and bread. Potatoes are vegetables, right? Of course they are! (Just kidding!)

Here’s a cashew salad and fried ham and cheese slabs I had one day this week. I had some Don Simon brand orange juice with it. I feel like I’ve seen that brand in the U.S. but I’m not sure. Does anyone know?

Paella
For dinner Tonight I had paella. It had shrimp and calamari in it (hence the name paella marisco/seafood paella, pronouced pie-yay-ah). I’m sure it wasn’t as good as what I could get at a restaurant here in Valencia, but I figured I’d give it a try. After watching the Valencia episode of PBS’s Spain… On the Road Again I had to have some paella. Maybe this week I’ll try some real paella.
I also had a walnut salad. I wasn’t able finish the salad and paella and didn’t touch the bread in the photo. Just a little paella is filling.

January 25, 2009

I wanted to make sure I had at least one photo of the food my senora makes before I go off to Valencia. For lunch today we had ham, fried cheese, a spinach salad with walnuts, an egg, bread, and french fries.
